Awesome music, Ok, so the plot is a bit thin, But who cares? This movie is sooo worth watching just for the music!!!

Great period film

Great film, even if the plot is a bit simplistic. Worth watching for the music alone: Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, the Mills Brothers and more. Captures life in America two years into WW2.

Couldn't Resist

I was working in another room with the TV on in my bedroom and heard The Mills Brothers singing - and it caught my attention. But then - Duke Ellington came on, and I was hooked! Had to stop what I was doing just to watch and listen. What a wonderful musical cast. This is the first time I have been on this website, and it's just because of this movie. Thanks for showing it in a time slot where I couldn't miss it.

A Musical Gem

Who cares about the thin plot or over-eager actors! This musical gem is a must see for any lover of the big band era! A trip down memory lane for those of us who out-lived WWII!Ann Miller proves she was more than just a pair of beautiful legs (and gorgeous upper body, too) and carries the movie along its musical journey with style, if not dramatic depth.

a 1940's treasure trove of music, clothing and atmospherics. Top notch musical performances with a silly plot. Five thumbs up.
