Produced in Italy and Spain. Released in Italy in 1964 as Per un pugno di dollari at 100 min; in West Germany in 1965 as Fr eine Handvoll Dollars; in Spain as Por un puado de dolares. This is the first in a series of films directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood as "The Man With No Name." Screenplay appears to have been based on the Japanese film Yojimbo (1962), q. v., although no credit is given.
