I think this is a pretty good movie that holds up extremely well over the years. I think Gable and Turner give one of their best performances, especially Gable. The story is good and interesting to the end.

This movie, though not grim as some, does bring out quite well the part each country's underground resistance played in the overall allied victory. It demonstrated the bravery and dedication of many who gave everything to overthrow the Nazi regime. And, the movie brought a sense of the decadence of the Nazi's that played a huge role in the ultimate defeat of Germany. However, it was a little too trite in places and the acting didn't quite capture the true nature of the times. Still, Clark Cable, Lana Turner and Victor Mature made the movie entertaining. Lana Turner's performance was by far the better acted part.
