This is a most delightful comedy very entertaining for the whole family. Fresh and up to date. The scenario - father and mother still love each other but are separated by the meddling mother- in - law. The little girl tries to get father and mother together again and all the funny incidents that happen in the process.A delight for anybody to see!

The characters refer to Flynn's character as Pettijohn, not Pettibone. I am not used to seeing Flynn in a mystery/comedy. I don't know if he carries his ruse as a Texan off, but it doesn't sound much different than some of his roles in his westerns.

A nice change of pace for Errol Flynn, and he does excellent. It's light and very entertaining, top notch cast with the supporting players particularly good. Suspenseful as well as amusing. Good fun.

Footsteps In The Dark is another showcase for Flynn's versatility. Flynn in a suit reminds us of just how good looking he was. Moreover, Flynn's comedy is often overlooked in his swashbuckling movies. Here, it is hilarious.

just watched Footsteps in the dark- enjoyed very much. Shows agian Mr. Flynn's great abilty in doing all or any parts. Have collected a few of Mr. Flynn's movies hope to be able at some time to add this to my collection. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this a 8 could be a nine. Hopefully Turner will show more of Mr. Flynn's movies would like to see some of his westerns such as Virginia City, also if Turner has more of the movies he made in the forty's.Love this Errol Flynn Movie!!!!!

I love all of Errol Flynn's pictures. I love this particular picture because Mr. Flynn really transforms himself into a modern day detective/sleuth! We finally get to see him in a role as a normal Modern Day Hero! We have seen many of his peers in such roles (ex. William Powell/Thin Man, Basil Rathbone/Sherlock Holmes, Dana Andrews/Laura, Jimmy Stewart/Rear Window, Spencer Tracy, and Henry Fonda) but to see him in this picture & in this role is so refreshing! It is a shame that he wasn't fortunate enough to get more substance type of roles like his peers! It's a bigger shame that Hollywood didn't recognize him in such type of roles! Don't get me wrong I loved his Westerns "They Died with Their Boots On" & his swatch buckling roles like "Captain Blood"! I always felt he was a marvelous, strong, & powerful actor! This picture "Footsteps in The Dark" shows me how versatile he truly was as an Actor in his line of work. I truly wished Errol Flynn could have been recognized by the Academy with an "Honorary Life Time Achievement Award".

  • LOVE THIS ERROL FLINN MOVIE!

In my opinion I think it's one of his best movies because it's different from the type of movies in was normally in. I think he's so cute in this movie. Although I love all the old mystery movies, The Thin Man, etc.
