The working titles of this film were Beauty Parlor and Beauty. A May 1933 Hollywood Reporter news item states that Nancy Carroll was offered a "top spot" in the film by M-G-M. According to a July 1933 Film Daily news item, Gilbert Roland was signed for the role of "Abbott," the part eventually played by John Roche. Henry Travers is also listed in news items as a cast member, but that actor did not appear in the film. Modern sources add Elise Cavanaugh (Saleslady) and Maidel Turner (Customer) to the cast.
