Young Tom Edison

A very entertaining and heartwarming film for the entire family. And, a must see for a family and/or child coping with ADHD. Thomas Edison is said to have suffered from this disability. While I'm sure it was not a recognized disorder when the film was produced, Mickey Rooney does a wonderful job of portraying the impulsivity that often plagues children with ADHD. Whether or not the film is 100% historically accurate, the problems "young Tom" finds himself in, due to this impulsivity, are so typical of the types of things my own son does. It gave him, and me, hope to see that one of the brightest minds in science may have been misunderstood as a youth, but still managed to do great things and be recognized for them.

Weather this is an exaggerated version of Edison's early life or weather this is based on the truth, this is one of the best family films ever made. Watch it, you will love it.

Very entertaining biography of Thomas Edison in his early years. Loosely (very) based on fact, but enjoyable anyway. Mickey Rooney is his usual very energetic self, Virginia Weidler gives great support.

Enjoyable,- This was the first "classic" movie my 12 and 14 year old watched. They loved it. It nice to have a movie, even if Hollywood look some liberites with the plot, about a man who has been nearly forgotten in American History.
