  • Good submarine wartime adventure...

I'm a sucker for a good sub flick, for whatever reason, and this one holds up thanks to Glenn Ford and Ernest Borgnine's performances and some impressive model work. The storyline is a bit wrought, but execution is professional as hell, tightly directed and edited, and there's a lot to be said for that.

This is a great movie for the era. Rather predictable plot but exceptionally well played by Glenn Ford and Ernest Borgnine. Great supporting cast. Don't miss this one.

A lot of movie fans enjoy this flick. I only know of it being available on VHS. High time the movie industry makes it available to the public on DVD. Let's have it!

I don't understand why L. Maltin gave this such a low rating. Glenn Ford and Ernest did a super job and I am sure filiming in tight quarters isn't easy.

I love E.Borgnine & G.Ford movies. So I get a double pleasure seeing this one, especially since I also love, W.W.2 movies. They are both terrific in this film. I watch it every chance I see it's coming on tv.

  • Torpedo Run one of the best WW II Sub Movies

    • Mac Wicht
    • 2/12/07

Run Silent Run Deep, Destination Tokyo, Up Periscope...they are all good movies, but this is the best one of them all. Tense, realistic, oscar caliber special effects. One of Glenn Ford's best.
