While this is not up to the standards of COURT JESTER or KNOCK ON WOOD, MERRY ANDREW is a solid Danny Kaye vehicle. There is good comedy - Kaye in his English mode as a private school instructor and the standard humorous circus chimp - good music, and one great number called "Salud!!" Any film with Kaye, Michael Kidd choreography and direction, and Tommy Rall in the dance company is worth watching.

Wonderfully pleasant and entertaining, but not shallow. Has a message: BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE. Great message for kids and for adults who are stuck and have forgotten how act on their dreams.

  • Hope this makes it to home video!

Danny Kaye will always be beloved and missed. This and many of his other films truly displayed his talent. His ability to sing and dance and act!!

Very light hearted love story with lots of comedic action which Danny Kaye can do so well.

Good story, lots of fun and a song to learn Pythagrium's Theroy - I even taught it to my kids! This movie should be on DVD!

  • Great Fam Flick!

Good story, charming songs and lots of slapstick fun. We have seen it on TV all too rarely and it is one of the movies we will MAKE time to see together.
