Class and style
- Neil Jurgensen
Powell and Loy are the epitome of sophisticated Hollywood glamour, style, and witty humor. Great chemistry between the leads, erudite and hilarious dialogue, and the clothes and sets are spectacular. Worth watching repeatedly for all the great lines and the irrepressible humor. They're called classics for a reason. More intelligence, warmth, and style in this film than in a dozen modern romantic comedies. Double Wedding is Double Pleasure for fans of Powell and Loy.
Not enough stars for this
Powell and Loy are at their best in this delightful comedy. The supporting cast works very well. John Beal is wonderful as the wimpy Waldo. The writing is fabulous.
William Powell and Myrna Loy are great together. If you are fans of their movies, you will enjoy it!
Double Wedding (1937)
- Jay Higgins
Good but very routine romantic comedy of opposites being attracted to each other. typical glossy MGM production. The story is bolstered very much by the leads, William Powell and Myrna Loy. They always make a good pair.
Delightful comedy with Powell and Loy.
I laughed at the mayhem scene in the trailor. They all played off each beautifully. I would buy this movie because it made me laugh and leave it feeling light hearted. The commedians were always superb in their timing and their dialouge could be understood among so many actors. Would buy this movie in an instant if available. I hope Powell and Loy fans will vote for this movie. I hope you will play it again, soo.
