An old-fashioned, corny musical. Rooney got his first Best Actor Oscar nomination, Garland is solid and their performances hold the film together because everyone else are 2-dimensional idiots. The put-on-a-show premise is weak, predictable and cheesy; the film references numerous MGM actors and films. To viewers who are into the leads or old-fashion premise, fine, but this reviewer wasn't. I give it a 2/5.

Uns dos melhores filmes de Judy e Mickey juntos. Eles desabrochando para se tornarem grandes astros nos musicais mostrando vigor, talento e claro muito carisma. Tinham uma qumica que at me arrepia. Um grande filme.

Great old fashioned fun, this is the original "let's put on a show" movie, and any film with Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney has to be great. Good songs, light and very entertaining. The scenes of Rooney imitating Clark Gable and other stars is priceless.

  • Judy, Mickey and June too!

Enjoyable, energetic "let's-put-on-a show" outing with rather forgettable tunes (other than "Where or When" [done ad nauseum]). Highlight for me is wonderfully bizarre June Preisser with her contortionist body and in-your-face-and-pants delivery.
