enjoyable screwball copy of it happened one night not in the same class as that iconic movie, gable and crawford have very funny scene with donald meek in a palace.

I watched Love On The Run because I like Clark Gable and it looked like a cute storyline, but now I want to see more of Joan Crawford's movies too! Gable and Crawford were a charming pair, and I'm looking forward to watching more of their movies together. Definitely recommended!

Love On The Run covers the gamut of transportation modes and colorful exotic costumes. Even though this movie is listed as a romance - there is plenty of comedy and silliness. Joan Crawford and Clark Gable are very good together! Their evening spent in the Fontainbleau Palace is precious, as is the caretaker and his invisible dog.

  • Gable vehicle with a tad of Tone

This feels like a chico flick. If Gable'syour macho man that you find entertainingas a bully of Tone, then mabye this one's for you. I was less than enthused with the sappiness of Crawford's role and performance. But, I suppose back in those days, men liked seeing men act likerivals and womanizers. I doubt his hold's up today for any but Crawford's cult clique or men who haven't grown beyond that era.

One viewing of this film was one too many. It was a different era that considered Gable king. A diferent audience that believed crawford had skill acting. Glamouring adultery then must have okay for movie stars. I won't go beyond the personal qualities of characters before I consider any performer's work or support it. Thus, I can't support this film because both lead actors lacked integrity beyond the pale. The film represents the immorality of an era that had double standards according to popularity & social status.
