Music In Manhatten
- Movie Buff
This is one of my top 10 go to movies for entertainment and lifting my mood!
Music In Manhattan
- Rose Jones
A good musical, witty, and interesting plot. I turned to this show fifteen minutes after it started and was intrigued by the story line. Since I missed the first part, I was wondering how it started off, so I checked the listing to see if TCM was going show the movie again. Unfortunately for me, this was the only showing of the movie. I periodically check the listing to see if the movie has aired since the last time I saw it, which was over ten years again.
MUSIC IN MANHATTAN SHOULD BE ON DVD!
- Jane C.
Frankie Foster and Stanley Benson are a pair of small-potatoes performers. Both try to make it to the big-time after winning an amateur talent contest. Though this leads them to a few professional gigs, something is missing from their act and they are not popular. Believing a little cash will boost their career, Frankie heads for Washington, D.C. to see if her wealthy father will help them. En route Frankie is mistaken for the wife of the well-known pilot Johnny Pearson and ends up in his suite having to pretend she is his spouse. When the pilot meets her, romantic sparks fly. The acting is quite good is this film - Anne Shirley, Phillip Terry and Dennis Day all give good performances. I really wish that this film would be released on DVD.
Favorite Black and White Film of All Time
Personally, I really enjoyed the type of comedy in this 40's film. I would suggest it to anyone who enjoys watching B&W. I wish it were easier to get my hands on. I have been trying to purchase this movie for a wile, but can't find a legit cite to purchase it from.
