I always vividly remember this film. The beginning of so many careers. I remember, as a kid this film really made an impact on me.

  • At 18, loved this movie

I was a freshman in college when this movie came out and for some reason, it capitvated me. In high school, I had known guys like the lead characters - guys who were so tough on the outside, but had emotions and sensitivity on the inside. Even though I liked the "star" Perry King, it was Sylvester Stallone who really shone for me. He was already showing the star power that would break through just two years later in "Rocky." I saw this movie 4 times and will love to see it again. Thanks TCM for bringing back some pleasant memories.

This film contains a brief shot of the old long gone Valley Stream Redstone Drive In movie theater, which I went to when I was a kid. It was next to the Green Acres Shopping center. It is now regular boring multiplex theater.

I fell in love with Sly Stalone and Perry King! This for me was the beginning of The Fonze!
