My Money's on Macready, but Raft wins out, both the boss's wife and in the ending.Love watching Macready's villains, don't know why so many dislike his films,he always adds so much to each film. And love grandpa Walton,Will Geer!Makes up for Vallin's Stooges.

Allegro is a florist, who is actually on the run from the law.So is Nina Foch, but she's sought because her hubby is flooding the country with counterfeit.Foch is married to Macready,a man who loves to hunt with a bow and arrow, and has a real disdain for guns.Geer is a Fed who convinces Raft to help the govt, but he doesn't know where the criminals are,so John is on his own to try to survive. He manages well with Glenda's (Mrs Vallin's) help.Finale better than finale of The Most Dangerous Game.

Raft as gangster on run who's captured and forced to cooperate with the Feds to bring down a counterfeiting operation. He meets accidentally with Nina Foch who happens to be the wife of a big time counterfeit boss. She brings John Allegro back to her hubby, and is all over John within sight of her hubby.Just watching Macready do his thing is fascinating IMHO.He's positively oozing slime. And what a bunch of dopes in his gang, the three stooges is what they are!And the big Mac with that bow!Back to Sherwood Forest,George.

Didn't know what to expect until reading the similarities to THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME.I like Macready as the hunter better than Leslie Banks, both with prominent facial scars, but no redeeming quality to Banks' Count IMHO.Became an immediate fan from the first time MacCrazy pronounced the name JOHNNY,esp after he was Ballin in GILDA.Is that why his character is Vallin?Raft good as Allegro, manages to keep up with Vallin,on orders from Will Geer's Schultze, another good turn. But Macready is my attraction here,he's so evil!
