20,000 years in Sing Sing

I saw this maybe a year ago on tcm, it is very good but John Garfield and Ann Sheridan are better in Castle on the Hudson. To compare both moovies you ought to show them together sometime like you do other films.

Bette Davis and Spencer Tracy

Didn't know that Spencer Tracy and Bette Davis were in this film together, eh? Heck, they're even lovers. Tracy's a very bad boy (Tommy Connors), who's already in loads of legal trouble. Fay Wilson's (Bette Davis) his girlfriend. Bette Davis is already really the spitfire who makes that her legendary trademark (mainly). So it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone when she gets very angry with a guy who lands her laid up in the hospital after a car crash. Angry enough to kill him. Connors (Tracy) loves Fay so much that he takes the fall for the guy's murder. Fay tries to confess to it but no one believes her. Connors pays the consequences. But, so does Fay. This 1932 film should be programmed on TCM as historical to both Tracy's and Davis' early acting careers.
