  • Hardin/Provine Shine in Fine WB Melodrama

WB used to have a contract player system. WB had Troy Donahue, Connie Stevens, Peter Brown, Van Williams, and in this picture Wall of Noise Ty Hardin and Dorothy Provine. I liked this movie with a race track setting. Ralph Meeker a fine underrated star also is featured. Suzanne Pleshette who made a name for herself in WB's Rome Adventure, fell in love with her leading man Troy Donahue and also starred with Troy Donahue in A Distant Trumpet with another WB star Diane McBain. These studio films that WB used to crank out using its roster of contract stars are enjoyable and reflect a different era. Perhaps TCM could do a day of WB studio pics of the 60's featuringTroy Donahue, Connie Stevens, Ty Hardin, Dorothy Provine,Bob Conrad, Suzanne Pleshette, Chad Everett, et al inParrish, Rome Adventure, Claudelle Inglish, Palm Springs Weekend, Wall of Noise, A Distant Trumpet. My Blood Runs Cold, Two on A Guillotine. Would be a great day of programming, and I for one would not only watch it but send emails around to friends to encourage them to watch as well.
