I'm glad I ignored the 2-star rating this movie received by Comcast's TV guide. South Sea Woman is engagingly acted out with a great cast. Nobody can tell a story like Burt Lancaster. The final battle scene had us cheering and crying at the same time. What a magnificent portrayal of courage!

Hidden by "From Here To Eternity's acclaim the same year - worth showing on TCM - not available unless you guys air it - been waiting years to see this again. Chuck Conners' first movie break, Burt Lancaster's jaw-jutting, teeth-baring, war movie persona, & Virginia Mayo's always dazzling presence should be seen, even if it is not an essential classic.
