The Crowded Sky

The Crowded Sky is a good human intrest movie, and a good pre airplane movie, most of the caracters are very likeable. I have seen it before and I enjoyed seeing it again on tcm.

Airport Precursor

Disjointed dramedy can't decide whether it's a romantic comedy, a suspenseful disaster film or a multiple POV human interest melodrama. In many ways, it was the precursor of the Airport series. If you're a fan of that genre, this entry has some historical interest. Several good actors are either wasted or poorly directed in this colorful and fastmoving mishmosh. When TCM showed this as part of a lineup including Airplane! and Zero Hour!, it made for an instructive six-hour thesis on the genesis and evolution of movie plots in Hollywood.

Historical Note

I did extensive research into the year 1960 back in the 80's for my "Return to 1960" cartoon calendar and as the title of this movie suggests, air traffic control had become a major problem in the United States by that time. Now imagine how it would have been with the number of flights we have now! I really can't wait to see this movie.
