  This movie is really great. This could be a true story, about people dealing with their problems. Each person is not thinking about what the other people are going through. Robert Blake is so believeable, and outstanding as Mokey. He mad me cry because I felt so sad for the turmoil in his life. Leonard Maltin rated this low because he probably does not like Blake, Blake deserved an award for the part he played in this movie. Forget about his current life, this was many years ago. Max

  This is such a heartwarming movie! A real tearjerker. You can't help but empathize with all the characters. They all try so hard and are clueless to the others feelings. Mokey is so misunderstood by his stepmother, you just want to embrace him in a huge bear hug and rock him. This is what he wants her to do. She doesn't realize this and has no concept of little boys. His enthusiasm and excitement seem to almost scare her and she seeks to control him. She thinks that he should always behave a certain way and when he doesn't, she think he's being willful - instead of just a typical high-energy boy. He always seems shocked that he's in trouble and is so innocent in his remorse. His constant response of "I don't know" when asked why he did a certain thing is an honest one. He really does'nt know why he did something that she considered wrong. He was just playing. She, however, thinks that he just won't admit to the supposed "crime" and becomes more distrustful of him. She seems to truly want to love him, she's just so bewildered by his antics. After much heartbreak all around, they finally become a family unit and the ending will please you. Just be sure and have a box of tissues ready. You'll need them through the entire movie. This is one of THE BEST!! Enjoy!!
