But The Flesh is Weak and Untamed
- Ann Brooks
I agree with DJ Crulz I absolutley love Robert Montgomery!!!!! These two movies were great... Please show his movies more. He is one of the great all time actors. If you enjoy him as much as I do you will also love Three Loves Has Nancy. Thanks for the opportunity to buy these movies I enjoy watching them.
I can't believe this film was ever released. Here we are during the early years of the depression and this abomination was shown in theaters when a dime was hard to come by and certainly not to be wasted in order to view this thing. Fred and Ginger and Busby B. offered song and dance; Busby poor chorus girs and hoofers; F&G great Berlin and Gershwin compositions. Something to take depression-era audiences out of themselves. Not the case with The Flesh is Weak at that point in time. La-de-da.I would love to have heard the cat-calls from the movie audience. If tomatoes were not to be so wasted I'm sure many would have stained the silver-screen.
You'll Laugh! You'll Cry! No... Seriously.

I can't believe how good this movie was. I've been trying to see as many Montgomery movies as possible because he is defiantly my favorite old time actor, who is severely underrated. And his movies aren't played nearly enough. Little did I know when staying up to watch this movie, how much I was going to love it. Montgomery's classic quirky style that always makes me laugh and keeps me grinning throughout the whole movie. But little did I know this underrated comedy would also be so moving! I mean it was so touching I cried! And believe you me, I've only cried in maybe 10 movies, if that. What a wonderful story. Definitely stands alone among 1930's romance movies which are usually too tragic or too funny(with no conflict) A Must see for anyone! I want this on DVD!
