Valachi Papers
- Bob Scardaci
- 6/8/11
In my opinion, this movie is more worth seeing than the original Godfather film.Unlike the Godfather, the movie is based on real people & events in New Yorkmob life from 1930 until the early 60s. Charles Bronson gives a believeableperformance as Valachi, as does Lino Ventura in his role of mob boss Vito Genovese. The violence in the film is realistic, as are most of the characters. The ritual of "beingmade" as shown in the film is factual. The history of how the original five mob familieswere set up by Maranzano is also true.
