I copied this to VHS tape years ago and am so glad I did. It is the best depiction of Native American life through their eyes I have ever seen. Superb movie. It needs to be brought back in DVD now so more people can see this true cultural classic.

It has to be one of the all time great Native American Indian movies ever made.

Wonderfully different expose on american life - using no english words - instead using american indian native tongue to describe the most noble virutes of the savage indian culture. With photography well shot and the story line centering around a old brave man's life memories - the viewer becomes literally enthralled. The beauty and ugliness of the times are well balanced and the main character is a pure and real hero. Movie received little to no mention at the time due to the growth of special effects laiden sci-fi and critically accliamed character movies of the times - yet all the acting performances in the movie where truely award winning since all of mankind's emotions had to be communicated through silent or non english scenes. Concept of counting coup makes movie very unique. It is a lost jewel - well polished and just waiting to be found again so its splendor can again be appreciated. Movie must be shown on this network if the network is true to wonderful movies for its replay would prove the the movie was the first major full length "Western" movie to help promote respect for our early american brothers and sisters.

DANCES WITH WOLVES IS GOOD - LAST OF THE DOGMAN WAS GOOD - BUT WINDWALKER RATES UP THERE IF NOT HIGHER. IT SHOWS A DIFFERENT WAY OF LIFE OF THE INDIANS THAT NEEDS TO BE TOLD. THERE IS ALWAYS COWBOYS IN THE PICTURE, THIS IS A CULTURE OF THE INDIANS. a WAY OF LIFE A DIFFERENT WORLD. I SAW THIS MOVIE WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT, I WAS 10, AND HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS SINCE. I TALK TO SO MANY PEOPLE ABOUT THIS MOVIE IT JUST NEEDS TO BE SHOWN AND PUSHED OUT THERE. GOOD STUFF LET ME KNOW IF YOU GET IT! i WOULD LOVE A FEW COPIES!
