  I bought this movie based on the positive reviews. It was a very thought-provoking, bittersweet movie. Very well done. The movie was well cast, but my favorite was Margaret O'Brien. In my opinion, she is the best child actress I have seen.

  I love TCM. I watch this channel everyday. I saw this movie about a month ago and I fell in love with the story. I also admire the determination of the characters to have to act out such a heart renching movie. I write down all the movies I want to purchase from TCM. But I was suprised to find out this one was not available. It is a shame for people to not be able to have this movie in their collection, or give it as a gift. I was going to order this for my mother in law. The reason is because she is from England. She also grew up during the time period of when the movire takes place. And because she was also an orphen. I know she would appreciate this story being told from the point of view of a child. So people can see what she and her siblings went through.

  I saw this movie when I was a child and it left a lasting impression on me. Over the years I have watched for the movie to come on, but never knew the title of it. I just knew it had Margaret O'Brien in it and Robert Young. So happy to see that TCM is playing the movie.. I loved it then and I love it now.. Hope it comes out on DVD, so I can own it..

  The actors and actresses in this movie were wonderful. The children just stole your heart and Robert Young was excellent. The development in the relationships between Young and the children was wonderful. Such a warm and compassionate story line. I could look at those little faces all day! Please let me know when I can purchase this on DVD. I would love to add it to my collection of favorites.
