  • The Film Noir & the Beautiful

If you like film noir, you'll like Killer's Kiss. It has a look and feel like few other films have. The previous reviewer was right-it's weak in some spots but has very stylish photography. The location shots of 1950s New York City are wonderful. It's a good story about good wrong-side-of-the-trackers being menaced by some genuinely creepy bad guys. For male viewers, the beautiful Irene Kane (aka the beautiful Chris Chase), is a joy to watch. This gal can be seen most every night on TCM for about 2 seconds during the TCM 'Open All Night' promo. She's the one removing her earrings in front of a mirror. This 2 second clip is from this movie. With a good male lead, a real good bad guy, and two drunks thrown in for comic relief, this little film is more than worth your while.

Far from perfect, some weak acting (I suppose the low budget is showing) but a strong drama, a well-built story and already a very stylish photography. As a bonus, you'll recognise shots that TCM has been using for an opening sequence.
