I first saw this when it was shown on Georg Brent's b/day, 3/15, and loved it! It's not perfect- but is a really entertaining story of an innocent girl with a horribly vain actress/mother who does not want her daughter around to remind her (and her friends) of her age. The daughter, Lois, is played by a wonderful, very natural actress named Jean Muir; the mother by the perfect choice for this role, Verree Teasdale.George Brent as Mac is one of the actress's admirers-until he meets and is charmed by the sweet, unassuming daughter, and sees how she is treated by her mom. That's when the mother gets really nasty! The film is dated now but I believe it would be enjoyed by fans of this genre. Very short; only about an hour long, it is to me like a small, sweet treat (on DVR) before going to bed! Jean Muir is so natural and believable: innocent, adoring and trusting of her mother until Mac opens her eyes to the world she's missing out on. Thanks TCM ,for making these rare movies available for viewing, even if not often enough..
