  • Really Loved thsi movie

I enjoy all of the WWII War Films on TCM during the Memorial Day Salute!. Dennis Morgan and Jack Carson are good in this one. It is very surprising that this movie is not on DVD. I would purchase it immediately to go along with all of my other WWII movies. This movie has a 1940's all star cast with Dennis Morgan, Jack Carson, Anne Sheridan, Don Defore, George Tobias and others. I really hope that TCM will show this movie more often and especially during the WWII tribute on Memorial Day like they did this year. This is a very underrated movie and needs to be on DVD soon!

Things start out properly light and snappy, as befits a film with Carson and Morgan, but about twenty minutes in you can almost hear director Lloyd Bacon thinking, "Damn! I'm making a comedy about a draft dodger in a defense plant! What was I thinking? Howard Hughes'll murder me". After that the film becomes heavy and dull. Give it a C.

  • Dennis Morgan was great!

I am used to only seeing Dennis Morgan in musicals, so this movie was a nice surprise. I don't like musicals as much as I used to, so it was nice that I didn't miss out on this one. Dennis Morgan proved he could act without having to sing.
