In the listing of Mothra movies this is actually the first. It introduces the twin fairies and Mothra, in which the fairies are kidnapped and have to rescued by our hero, Mothra. I read a previous review in which the reviewer inaccurately portrayed this as being the 2nd mothra movie. That movie has the english title Godzilla vs the Thing. As an advid classic movie collector, I actually own all the mothra movies, plus all of the movies that mothra appears in. This movie is fairly typical of the monster movies that were made at toho during the heyday at that studio, for monster movies. Godzilla (Gojira) the first in a long line of monsters that were made both for the thearter and after tv for kids. One has to take respect that the majority of these were made for kids.

While all the other Japanese monster movies have been released on DVD during the past 2 years, the original MOTHRA has been strangely neglected. A fairly silly film that introduces two catapillars silking-over Godzilla, and winning the day against that oh-so-terrible monster! Wheee - pure fun.
