A June 1946 Hollywood Reporter news item reported that Charles Schoenbaum briefly took over for cameraman Sidney Wagner when Wagner fell ill. According to a November 1946 Hollywood Reporter news item, a new ending for the picture was shot after a preview screening audience reacted negatively to seeing Van Johnson's character in heaven.
