The One that got away

Enjoyed this movie and the first time viewing it. Sort of movie that is exciting and thrilling at the same time. The thrillers that are what gives you an adrenaline high and this movie gives you that. Excellent movie! 4 plus but can only give a solid number with no pluses or minuses. What happened after Kruger used the boat and climbed the steps and a baton touched him and He looked up to see what? It had me thinking that he possibly ended back on the Canadian side! Our cable Suddenlink.net came on to say----We appreciate your patience-this channel will be back shortly! Terrible for the viewers like me that might not ever know what happened. Is there anyone out there that would reply as to the ending. Thank you, M. Vann

I first saw this film in Gibralter soon after its release in 1958 while serving in the U.S. Navy. It was great then and has lost nothing over the years.

I loved Hardy Kruger in this movie. No one else could have played the part as well as he did.

It is a gripping film. I found myself rooting for Von Werra. It shows the humanity of Germans during the War. Not all were Nazi monsters; so many were doing what the believed to be right and simply being soldiers serving their Vaterland. Hardy Kruger is exceptional and the scene on the ice in Canada is riveting and he did not speak a word!!!

Years ago I viewed movie "The One that Got Away." Absolutely excellent. Have attempted many times to find on VHS or DVD without success. Also "Reach for the Sky" both true stories. It is the story of Douglas Bader played by Kenneth More. Mr. Bader was a fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain and prior to the war had lost both legs. A very beautiful and inspirational story. Please advise if you have plans on telecasting either. Thank you. J. Sullivan, Plymouth, Vt.
