Great World War II Movie!
- Dan Grissom
- 12/13/10
When I was a boy this movie stuck in my mind for years when it premiered on one of the networks. As I watched this action-packed film with my dad I was struck by an American movie showing the Germans' point of view without making them look like total monsters. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't glorify Nazis by any means, but what this movie does achieve is a somewhat realistic view of a confused battle situation. Robert Vaughn and George Segal turn in some great performances, but Bradford Dillman steals the show with his pompous officer role....what a great acting job! If you get a chance to watch this movie take it!

No matter where you start watching this film it draws you into the story without knowing exactly what is going on. I was anxious to know who these guys were and behind them all the way on their mission. I can see the modern filmmakers in our time being inspired by the companys courage. Angelo was my favorite character because he constantly had to fight not only an enemy he could see, but the one we all have to face inside ourselves. War is never glamourous, but the actors in this movie makes it look so real and so good it made my heart appericiate the sacrifices our veterens made that gives us our freedoms today.
