This movie was good in the total sense of the word good! It portrayed evil as such in its real perspective & each individual's struggle to willfully overcome or to consciously succumb to it which consequences are determined in Eternity via the Cross or the Flames! V.P. may have taken up more acting space than the others but how else could his character drive home the point? His fellow players held their own just as admirably!

Glad this is getting another airing.IMHO,Price and his good buddy Macready are two vastly underappreciated character actors, and love when either has a film shown on TCM,it's the BIG TIME!This one was quite good, and a credit to Vincent.

Great actor if you like a "One Man Show" or broad portrayals, he's outstanding. But most of this is "kid stuff". I don't mean that as a negative, he has a certain grace and his supporting actors are typically "top notch". So, lets just put it this way.............Vincent Price is best at making Vincent Price movies. Not particularly my "thing". He just is so broad in his portrayals that he just never has blended well with other actors to create the types of films I personally prefer. But he is excellent at what he does create his own personal genre the Vincent Price film of which this is another one ! Again this is in no way meant to demean his talents, I believe they are great. 3 stars

This is a treat for Price fans. He shows his acting chops by struggling with evil and eventually conquering it. Good fright movie.

  • Price Gets The Bird(1963)

Simon Cordier(Vincent price) is a french magistrate who kills a condemned murderer is self-defense only to inherit the "Horla", an evil spirit that possed the murderers body. Well as "Horlas" go in order to inflict its' will on Price, he must undergo rituals like killing his pet bird, wow...Tough group...Anyway this talky horror/suspence has its' beauty , Nancy Kovack who becomes the model to Price with tragic consequences... The trouble with this film is that it takes too long to develop and much to much filler along the way... Look for Mr. Whipple(Dick Wilson) as the secretary to Price, and Ian Wolfe, a terrific veteran actor with many accomplished roles to his credit. 3.5 stars out of 5.

A pretty good Vincent Price horror thriller. Not too well known.
