Open Your Eyes to One-Eyed Jacks

I remember the controversy had already begun when Brando was making this film; the so-called critics of that time came out of the woodwork to criticize this film even before it was completed. I have seen this film maybe 30 times complete; and all I can say is it was worth every dime and every minute it took to make it. Paul Newman was once asked who was the best actor in movies today? He answered: "when he is really on--- Brando". If you want to see one of the most unique and entertaining Westerns ever made; with an outstanding cast (Ben Johnson and the great Karl Malden along with Brando, stand out), a wonderful music score by Hugo Friedhofer, give this one a look; you'll be glad you did.

Fantastic scenery, gorgeous scenes of the Pacific Ocean coast line. This is a somewhat "hoakey" story about how full of hate a person can get when betrayed by a friend. Then it shows how "love" can change a person. Great cast too, Brando, Karl Malden, Slim Pickins, Ben Johnson, Katie Jurado and the lovely Pina Pelicer who I heard later took her own life in Mexico. She was beautiful
