  • Sweet Sixties Film

I've seen a few bad reviews of The Bobo, but I really enjoyed this little movie. For one thing, it oozes a kind of Sixties sexy charm... Britt is the epitome of the hip chick with her wonderful hairdos and clothes and eye makeup. Perfection.Barcelona in the location scenes is as I remember it long ago. I've never-ever watched a Sellers movie outside of Pink Panther, so this was a fresh experience, seeing his peculiar brand of humor. The supporting players are great and as I said in my title, it's just a sweet movie. Small and sweet, like the close-up shot of Britt putting a chocolate in her mouth.

"The Bobo" in my opinion is definitely not one of Peter Sellers better films. The premise itself is just plain ridiculous: a failed matador tries a singing career, tries to seduce a very sexy Britt Ekland (whom I believe was married to Sellers at the time), ends up covered in blue dye and finally finds fame as Barcelona's only blue singing matador. Sorry Peter, you should have passed on this load of bull (pun intended).
