A Rather Suspenseful Western

I like this Western for several reasons. One of them is because of Gary Cooper. Another is because of Alan Hale, Jr. Another is because of Lon Chaney, Jr. having his rear end knifed by Cooper to teach him a lesson. And, because this is a fairly suspenseful Western. One thing about Westerns, to me, is they usually seem pretty straight forward. You've got your straight-shootin' good guys and your really, really evil bad guys. Which seemingly leads most Westerns into formulaic obviousness. But this movie doesn't show all of its cards from the beginning. It kind of leaves you guessing and not all is as it appears to be in the beginning. So, by the end, all is as it should be.
