The film lacks the wit and darkness of "Mr.Roberts"..but..it has charm and it's own brand ofwild abandeon. The funniest characters are:Burl Ives as"Capt.Morton" and Walter Mathau as"Doc"..Kay Medford is also funny as the head army nurse. The only disapointment is Bob Walker..who can't come close to Jack Lemon's"Ensign Frank Pulver".

This sequel to Mister Roberts, can't compare to the original, but it still has its charm. Great supporting cast, with Kay Medford coming off best in a hilarious performance as a wisecracking nurse. Quite an array of future big stars, which includes Larry Hagman, Jack Nicholson, Peter Marshall, James Coco and James Farentino. Harmless fun.
