Always was our favorite film, open road,no chains tying you down.Almost made it to Australia, but health prevented it in our prime.Oh,well,we'll get there someday.

  • Great "Aussie" Movie

I have loved this movie since seeing it as a young child and everytime I watch it I am transported back to a simple time.Having travelled through Nimmitabel 1000's of times I always think of Paddy Carmody being brought out of the pub and the fight scene...and you know...the town is relatively unchanged....I would recommend this movie to anyone and think the casting was simply brilliant. My grandfather was an extra in the movie during the scenes at the Cooma Races - the grandstand still stands today!

Impressive story on a grand scale. Poignant, always interesting and the entire cast is outstanding. Glynis Johns and Deborah Kerr in particular stand out. Kerr and Mitchum have an excellent rapport on film. Fine cinematography and it has a very effectively slow pace.

  • A Perfect Travel Story Film

Deborah and Robert at their best! Could watch it every week and feel like I was transported back in time and space to anohter era. Their charactor relationships transends time.
