First review barely nailed it! Sanders (as usual) is great in the lecherous role that Sam Jaffe played in Asphalt Jungle, but the other cast choices fall far short of those in John Huston's Noir classic. Who could ever replace Sterling Hayden, James Whitmore, Louise Calhern and Marilyn Monroe? This isn't just a "remake" ... It copies "Jungle" so accurately, the original film was used nearly verbatim! Direction, Script and Story Boards, every plot point, scene and Character in Jungle is here. But the one element that I found especially interesting is the Location... Shot entirely in Cairo in 1962-63... this film grasps a glimpse of Egypt in a far less volatile and dangerous time. Well worth catching!
