The Redmill

Though not one of her best, Marion Davies is great in this film! The music score is great and everything from the senery to the outfits is in great.

MORE MARION DAVIES FILMS

Another terrific silent film (how many more Marion Davies films are hiding in the TCM vault?) finally gets shown and is a total pleasure. Almost a fairy tale but grounded by the comedic talents of Davies. The last segment in the mill is gorgeously photographed. Fun all the way. I loved the ice skating race!

Great to see this Rare Film

Marion Davies is so often overlooked today for on onscreen acting and comedic abilities. Since she was tied to Hearst, many just thought she was a "patsy." However, if you look at the move "The Patsy," as well as the "The Red Mill," you will see great comedic genius. I am glad that our generation can see this lady in her prime again. Later talkie films of Davies do not show the charm of her silent era.

Laugh out loud silly

This film was very humourous. I found myself laughing out loud to this silly film. Tina is silly and loveable and Willem is a brut if there ever was one. I enjoyed this film very much.
