Ok so the movie was soapy but I loved it. It was not going to win an Academy but it sure won me over. It was a feel good family movie.Thank You TCM for showing Glory.
really dreadful movie
I was a long time O'Brien fan, and I think this movie finished her career. It was clean and wholesome all right, but the writing was pedestrian, and "Clarabell!" really!! She was not convincing the way Shirley Temple was in the Batchelor and the Bobby Soxer, it was actually painful for me to watch her act her way through it. A real disappointment.
Great for horseracing fans.

I enjoy these older movies. They are filled with the high hopes, dreams and expectations, unlike the new movies depicting only violence, lust and bloodletting. The cast is superb in their roles, especially Walter Brennan. I think he was underused, in my opinion, in this role. He should have had more lines, but ones he did have were substantial enough to last. I would recommend this movie to all ages. It is a timeless classic, a fun, feel good movie.
AnimalLovers of all ages, see Glory (1956)
This is one of the truly family friendly movies that are so scarce today. The story is both entertaining and amazingly accurate as a depiction of Thoroughbred racing in the 1950"s. We need to find more of these gems and make them available on home video for families that are more careful of what their children see on tv.
Fun show for horse lovers
This is a very entertaining movie. Walter Brennan verbally spars with different members of the cast. just a fun movie that needs to be released for the home movie fans.
