The Elizabeth Allen listed in the cast is the incorrect person. The actual actor is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Allan, born in 1910 (the other one would have been five years old in 1934).

Interesting historical contrast showing the days before health insurance and big money. Dedicated doctors struggled on $20/ week ($366 in 2017 dollars). And don't OD on insulin.

I really appreciated the quality of this picture. The characters were all played by the best actors, with plenty of emotion. I never expected this from so old a medical drama. Gable, without mustache, was at the top of his game, and it was evident Loy had found a style - her style, and excelled. Viewers will NOT be disappointed.

Eu acho este filme excelente. um melodrama muito bem feito e com o Clark Gable fazendo o papel de um mdico que tem que escolher entre o amor e a profisso. Eu gostaria muito de ver este filme no TCM.

    • 3/30/10

Routine MGM melodrama about doctors and the drama of the business, kind of a predecessor to Dr. Kildare. t is mainly of interest to se the two main stars. It isn't anything outstanding but the art direction is quite well done, and it does have the studio's high production values to give it a boost.
