Very Silly, Even Stupid, But Cute
- Muriel Schwenck
This is a stroy which doesn't serve the talents of any of the featured players. If it wasn't good for Shirley Temple's career, well, it didn't help Franchot Tone's carerr either, Hay, and actor has to buy groceries like the rest of us.It's really a silly story, but it's not the actors. They have the talent. They do their job. The problem is the stupid story.Maybe people can enjoy it as entertaining fluff. Otherwise, don't hold it against the actors, hold it against the silly script.
SEVEN SHIRLEY TEMPLE MOVIES THAT AREN'T ON DVD
- Jane C.
ALL of Shirley Temple's movies should be on DVD! She is a beloved icon, and no matter what ratings critics give some of the movies she made when an older teen and adult, all of them should be available to the public. There are even two that aren't on DVD that were made when she was a little girl - how did they get missed? These are the missing DVD's of Shirley Temple:Poor Little Rich GirlOur Little GirlThat Hagen Girl (1947)Adventure in Baltimore (1949)Kathleen (1942)Honeymoon (1947)Mr. Belvedere Goes to College - This last one has both Shirley Temple AND the delightful Clifton Webb, and it's a terrible shame it's never been put on DVD. What are the film distributor's thinking? They don't know what the public wants or they'd have all these on DVD! They are all worth seeing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Very refreshing to say the least.
HONEYMOON STARRING SHIRLEY TEMPLE
MANY PEOPLE ONLY THINK OF SHIRLEY TEMPLE MOVIES WERE GOOD WHEN SHE WAS A LITTLE GIRL, BUT THAT IS NOT SO! SHE MADE SEVERAL MOVIES AS AN ADULT THAT WERE REALLY GOOD! THIS MOVIE IS ONE OF THEM, ALONG WITH BACHELOR AND THE BOBBY SOXER, MR. BELVEDERE GOES TO COLLEGE, AND THAT HAGEN GIRL. THE ONLY ONE OF THOSE MOVIES THAT IS ON DVD IS "BACHELOR AND THE BOBBY SOXER" AND THAT IS BECAUSE CARY GRANT IS IN THAT ONE. BUT ALL OF THESE MOVIES I'VE JUST LISTED DESERVE TO BE PUT ON DVD! HONEYMOON IS A VERY LIGHT-HEARTED, BUT CLEVER MOVIE - VERY FUNNY. THE REASON PEOPLE HAVEN'T VOTED FOR IT IS BECAUSE THEY AREN'T EVEN AWARE OF IT! TCM RARELY SHOWS ANY OF THESE ADULT SHIRLEY TEMPLE MOVIES ANYMORE AS THEY USED TO. I JUST WISH THAT TCM WOULD USE ITS INFLUENCE TO HAVE HONEYMOON AND THE OTHER MOVIES PUT ON DVD VERY SOON! THEY ARE GEMS THAT WILL DISAPPEAR IF NOT PUT ON DVD. THAT WOULD BE VERY SAD.
I loved this movie
- Brittany, age 14
There was something kind of unique about this movie that just made me love it. While it's not really the kind of movie for a more serious mood, it's silly and lighthearted without being stupid. It's even more interesting to a Shirley Temple fan, as this is the first movie I'd ever seen with her as an adult, and she is just as good as an adult as she is as a child.
Great Shirley Temple
This was one of the first film by Shirley I ever saw as a kid and I loved it the way it only took a bump on the head to make switch loves was so funny I haven't seen this movie very often but it stays in my memory as one of my favorites.
SHIRLEY TEMPLE IS FUN!
STARRING SHIRLEY TEMPLE, "HONEYMOON" IS A FILM ABOUT A TEENAGE GIRL, AN OLDER MAN, AND A SOLDIER. SHIRLEY IS THE GIRL WHO ARRIVES IN MEXICO AND EVENTUALLY FALLS FOR AN OLDER MAN (FRANCHOT TONE). THE ONLY PROBLEM IS SHE IS ENGAGED TO A SOLDIER (GUY MADISON), WHO SHOWS UP READY TO BECOME A MARRIED MAN. THINGS GO BACK AND FORTH FOR AWILE, BUT ALL IS WELL BY THE END OF THE FILM. THIS IS A FUN MOVIE TO WATCH, AND THE CAST DOES A GOOD JOB TO MAKE THIS MOVIE SEEM SOMEWHAT BELIEVABLE. SHIRLY TEMPLE IS HER USUAL PERKY SELF AND GUY MADISON IS GREAT AS THE SOLDIER. IF YOU LIKE LITE COMEDIES (OR SHIRLEY) THIS IS A GOOD MOVIE TO SEE!
