Just fun, and Ginger is sublime, with Fred this perfect 10th time.
Nunca vi ningum como Fred e Ginger danarem com tanta classe e elegncia. A melhor dupla que apareceu nos cinemas e nos filmes musicais. Um completava o outro. Este filme deveria ser exibido no TCM.
A must see for Fred/Ginger fans!
It's a fun view. Especially for those of us who are fans of the couple. They have aged beautifully in this picture and they put a bow on their time together. It's great to see them in technicolor!
The Barkleys of Broadway (1949)
- James Higgins
This last pairing of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers is certainly the least entertaining of their musicals. They lack the chemistry that was so evident in previous films. The score isn't bad, but none of the songs are very memorable. Good production values. Another thing lacking from their previous films is a strong supporting cast.
Just plain good

What can I say about The Barkleys of Broadway? It's just plain good. For their last movie together, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers play a hilarious yet totally believable married couple. One reviewer said that this movie could have been a sequel to some of their earlier movies and I'm inclined to agree. And what a sequel it was. If I could give out "retro oscars" to any actors, it would be Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers for every movie they were in together and especially this one.
The barkley's of broadway!
GREAT FILM!! the moments with ginger and fred are priceless. i love the hate/love relationship they showed. Ginger rogers made a great replacement for judy garland. The dance scenes were really sweet
