The Winning Team
- Michael Kazmar
- 10/26/10
Had never seen this movie, but like most sports movies I have watched from that era, it wasn't that good (The Babe Ruth Story is just unwatchable). The 1926 World Series actually ended when Babe Ruth was caught stealing second base, not with Tony Lazzeri striking out. I knew that from reading about it when I was 12 years old and I am now 47.

THE WINNING TEAM-Better than expected
- Scott H

The movie glosses over events too quickly and is more fiction than fact as I understand it. But Ronald Reagan and Doris Day are terrific together. I was surprised by the strength of Reagan's performance and by the end I was in tears. And I hate baseball.

Super story about Grover Cleveland Alexander. His ups and downs in life and baseball.
