This was the first movie I ever saw; I was taken to the local St. Louis theater by my dad when I was about 6 years old. I since had the opportunity to fly hundreds of thousands of miles on Pan Am and consider it one of the great airlines in aviation history. Juan Trippe, assisted by Charles Lindberg carved out a route structure thought impossible by critics. I would dearly like to see the Martin 130's in flight and hear again, "China Clipper calling Alemeda."

Fantastic Aviation Movie...China Clipper

This is a hit movie for aviation history buffs. It should have been on DVD long ago. It gives a great account of early airline aviation in the 1930's. Action, Adventure, People....Great for anyone that cares about flying movies....Don't miss this one.

China Clipper on DVD?

It is high time this classic aviation movie was released on DVD. On occasion it is possible to see it on television and it was shown as recently as 2007. It is the only movie out there that has original footage of the Martin M-130 China Clipper flying boat. Needless to say... with Humphrey Bogart starring, this is a natural to be re-released on DVD. Let's get cracking Turner Classic Movies!

In an action adventure historical novel I wrote, The Flight of the Setting Sun, the main character is a China Clipper pilot when WW II breaks out. I have always wanted to see this movie, to see if there were any similarities. Am looking forward to its showing this coming July 10th. www.storydomain.com
