Synopsis

Manhattan socialites Paul and Jennifer Montgomery amass a vast art collection and devise novel games. In these pursuits the couple is joined by Lisa Schindler, an aging cosmetics saleswoman and amateur medium. Among the amusements contrived by Lisa is Jennifer's seduction of adolescent delivery boy Norman Fields. Surprising the pair, Paul shoots Norman. Afterwards he encases the body in plaster, adapting the corpse as an art object. When Lisa departs and Paul goes on a business trip, Jennifer is alone with the sculpture. To her horror Norman reappears and pursues her. Terrified, she shoots and kills him. Informing his distraught wife that the first murder was a hoax, Paul commits Jennifer to a mental institution. After selling the couple's art collection the socialite is joined by his accomplice Lisa, who proposes a toast to the success of their scheme. Quickly quaffing the drink, Paul falls dead at Lisa's feet.
