Synopsis

Finding herself destitute and homeless, Marise La Noue runs away to Paris with the mayor's son, Jean Leonnec, to be married. They are separated, and in time he becomes a thief and she, a woman of the streets. Years later they meet again. He is arrested and after serving a prison term returns to find her a changed woman.
