Synopsis

Fact-based dramatization of the triumph of six-year-old Ruby Bridges, one of the first African-American students to integrate a public elementary school in New Orleans. She overcomes the difficulties and challenges of her situation with the help of teacher Barbara Henry; psychiatrist Dr. Robert Coles; and her proud, but worried parents, Lucielle and Abon Bridges.
