For contemporary viewers, Danny Kaye is best known for his role in White Christmas. Other than the occasional screening of the Secret life of Walter Mitty most of his films are now rather forgotten. It may be hard for younger film goers to understand but Danny Kaye was once one of the biggest stars in the entertainment world. In the 40's and 50's he was a top stage, recording, and movie personality. And later had a successful TV show. But tastes have changed and many viewers find his over-the-top silliness, grimaces, and twitches just too hard to take. I think one of the reasons contemporary viewers are baffled by him is that he was an "all around talent": singer, dancer, actor, comedian. Really good a mimicry and slapstick, and cute little patter songs but not really great at any one thing. In our era of specialization, he seems sort of well-meaning and cute, but not talented. But I hope viewers today and tomorrow can see him in the context of his times and enjoy his talents and charm. Even if they are a bit silly and slight at times, he really was a major entertainer in his day.

This is by far one of the MOST talented, entertaining individuals I have EVER enjoyed!!! I just don't understand why you pretty much NEVER show any of his movies!! IS THERE A PROBLEM WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT?? I couldn't POSSIBLY be the ONLY ONE who is asking!! P.S. I would absolutely DIE without you. I can't breathe without my TCM. Don't ever THINKabout disappearing!! P.S.S: BRING ON DANNY KAYE AND YOU WILL BE ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

What an amazing man! I have loved Danny Kaye ever since my Dad introduced him to me as a teenager. He could do everything! Smart, funny, talented... and he could do anything with his mouth! I just wish there were more of his movies available out there on dvd, or even better, blu-ray! Both! I am very eager to get Wonder Man and The Kid From Brooklyn on dvd at least... there has never been anyone else like him since.

Why can't they revive people with real talent like Danny Kaye ? We have so many plastic talents today, everyone is so readymade. He danced so well, sang so well, and made us laugh - and what a humanitarian ! Let's celebrate his uniqueness.

I feel that Danny Kaye was one of the most gifted performers of his time. His abilities were out of this world. I have never seen anyone match his talent, if there exists such a person. He is dearly missed.

I was raised watching Danny Kaye movies. In turn I raised my children and now my grandchildren on movies that are funny, have heartfelt spirit and prove you are only limited by the boundaries you put on your own imagination. Danny Kaye's imagination was limitless as was his wifes. Thank you for all the joyful memories of laughter that you have brought into our home.

What more can i say. I enjoy all of his movies especially the ones with Virginia Mayo they had such a chemistry onscreen. He does it all slapstick, sing, dance, comedy. Nothing better after a long day is to put on a Danny Kaye movie and forget your troubles for a little while. Never be any one like him again.

I am so happy to see other people who love Danny Kaye as much as I do : ) When I meet people who have never heard of him before, I just feel like they are missing out on something great. I want to throw every single film I own of Danny Kaye's at them so they can see what we see in this awesome talented actor/singer/contuctor..(is there more?) : ) You all have a great week.

Danny Kayne is without a doubt my favorite of the classic movie stars. He can lift you up when you're feeling down or just plain comfort when it's been a long day. His movies are always fun and with that twinkle in his eye you always feel as though you are in on the joke. He can sing, dance, be funny and sincre. There's never been another just like him and I doubt there ever will.

I love Danny Kaye. Anytime I'm feeling down or just want to feel good, I'll put on one of his films or radio shows and be laughing before I know it. He was a genius. Not to mention he was down right cute.

I had always known of Danny Kaye from White Christmas. I once asked my father what was he? I knew actors of that time were expected to be able to sing, dance, comedy, etc. but you could usually tell which they were best at, not with Danny. My dad told me that he was all of those things, and more. Lately, I have been watching every Danny Kaye movie I could and boy was dad right, there is nothing he couldn't do, not even drama was beyond him. Danny is one of the great ones!!!

I truly love Danny Kaye. From his singing, dancing and comedy he is a legend. There will never be another like him. I feel that his story needs to be told in a TV movie or a big budget movie. He like some many others in his day paid the way for younger talents like Jerry Lewis, Jim Carrey and Robin Williams. I love his movies and he deserves to be spotlighted on TCM.

Danny Kaye is the funniest comedian I have ever watched. I enjoy practically all the movies I have ever seen him in. He is a comedic genius, and I wish that someone would release a Danny Kaye collection on dvd. I keep trying to get a hold of movies that I've never seen him in... He is by far the best, and that's saying a lot for a young man these days.
