  While I love "Brief Encounter", I think my favorite Celia Johnson film is "This Happy Breed." It follows a British family from pre-WWI Britain through mid WWII. Coming from Brit. stock I recognize these characters. Fabulous. I understand it is not on DVD which is too bad. She is a "10."

  What a wonderful, under appreciated actress! I recently saw Celia in "Brief Encounter", then again in "In Which We Serve". There is something positively mesmerizing in both her performances. She was not your typical beauty, but she was enchanting none the less. And, she possessed such a hypnotizing voice. It's such a pleasure to watch, and listen to her perform. She is now one of my all time favorite actors.
