  When I began purchasing Classic Movies from TCM through Movies Unlimited, I could not find any movies with Ben Johnson listed. He was co-star with John Wayne so I began purchasing those. I would keep searching and now you even have a biography in his honour. Bravo TCM! This gentleman was no second to anyone in any movie. Wayne was a large, loud actor (don't get me wrong, I like John Wayne too), but Ben Johnson held his own. He spoke pleasantly, never had to be loud or large, because he was very large to me in every picture. My eyes would always be on him no matter whom they gave top billing. Often wondered if he married and now I know as much as anyone else about him. Thank you TCM for the great picture and may he rest in peace. Not hard for a peaceful person in the movies. My warmest regards to those who contributed to the pages. I have listed all the movies, I think I can purchase. (Mrs) Gwen Atkins

  Ben Johnson was a real hero honest and he could really ride a bronco. He was more than a actor, he was a real cowboy who just stumbled into acting with the best. Ben helped people like John Wayne and John Ford look good at their profession. I am sorry to say I never met Mr.Johnson even though I lived in Mesa, AZ in 1992. I will have fond memories of him and his skills on the big screen. Ben Johnson needs a proper web site so people can read about his life.

  Ben Johnson gave all of his performances a relaxed reverence that his fans, including me, should appreciate. One of the obscure movies he appeared in was "Soggy Bottom USA, " a movie that had Dub Taylor, Jack Elam, and a hound dog that was noted for his passing of gas! It was set in Depression era Louisiana. He was the sheriff, Dub taylor was a whiskey maker, Jack elam was a most disreputal character-i.e. bad guy! It was good fun and I wonder if there was a script , with all of that talent!
